The singer was born Jerod Icon on October 30, 1992. J-Rod grew up in West Palm Beach, Florida and came from a long history of musical talent. His mother was a recording artist as was other various members of the Icon family. J-Rod began singing at the age of 2 years old in church. Music was in his bones. The youngest of his siblings, he learned to be the toughest and the most determined to bring Glory to the Icon name.
In January of 2008, J-Rod’s musical ability was discovered by Syxx Entertainment’s owner and founder, Blaze Hunter. J-Rod attended a recording session with his brother, Young Killa, who is also a recording artist. The two took place in a brotherly singing face off. J-Rod’s voice brought Magic to Blaze’s ears. He knew right away that J-Rod was the talent he needed to put Syxx Entertainment on the map. So Blaze signed a 16 year old Jerod Icon and transformed him into J-Rod the Icon.
J-Rod spent 2 years in artist development with Syxx Entertainment. Now that he is 18 years of Age, J-Rod the Icon is ready to begin writing his legacy. With his city behind his back, the unique sound of J-Rod the Icon will easily become a household name for the whole world.
